Weight Battle

I am almost lost on how I should start this. It has been months since my last post. My life has been going in so many directions.

For the last two years I have been battling with weight gain. I had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception and I felt great about myself. I weighed 133, I was in great shape & would get up early and go to gym to run, do classes or weight lift. Less then a year after my wedding we got word Zak would be deploying again for 6 to 7 months. I started slowly going to gym less and would stay home with Zak as much as possible, and would also eat like Zak does(which is a big mistake).  Literally the DAY BEFORE Zak was deploying I lost my job. It was a crushing blow. I wasn't happy, and I was gaining more and more weight. I was up to 175 in July when another crushing blow came my way. I was watching a friends dog, and my dog outside and was making sure they had water. They were playing around and rough housing when they came up behind me and knocked my knees out from me. I some how twisted and landed half way on the grass and half on the cement. I tried to get up and go inside, but either way I turned or moved was painful. Went to doctor and they thought I tore ACL and or Meniscus. Unfortunately my insurance wouldn't pay for an MRI until I did a month or so of Physical Therapy to see if knee would get better on its own. No surprise that it didn't get better, and I was limping around for almost two months when I finally got the OK to get an MRI. Well turns our I had no ACL even left, and meniscus was torn badly and probably got worse because I had to wait so long. I got surgery on Sept. 20th, 2012, and the healing process can take up to a year. Therapy went well, but as soon as it was over I stopped going to the gym and my quad muscle never came back like it should. So I am still struggling from time to time with my knee because it is still weak.
So it is now end of July 2013, and I am at a weight of 205.  YIKES~
I really wish I could blame it on one thing like; my husband, knee surgery, job loss, deployments, stress, or whatever, but I think it was a combination of everything. Mainly I have not eaten like I should, or worked out like I should.
I have felt very un-happy and even ashamed. I can't stand taking pictures, getting ready for the day, or going out and having to socialize because I have been so self conscious. I am also sick of feeling tired all the time. I have troubles sleeping, maybe due to always being so uncomfortable. Also maybe because my skin is stretching, and crazy enough that is painful and annoying. One of the main reasons I decided to write this and start changing my life, is because I hit my rock bottom. I was looking at my sister in-law's facebook page and seen some pictures she put up a couple months ago. I was so shocked at what I saw. I knew I was over weight, but I avoid full mirrors and in my mind I would tell my self it wasn't that bad. When I seen the picture there was no mistaken. First thing I noticed was how uncomfortable I was. Pillow on my lap(like its able to cover something), face so round it has no definition, arms so big(and pale) they stand out from a mile away. Mainly it was sad seeing it because of how unhappy I looked.
I am ready to change my life, and hope to have all of you there with me.

                                                        Goals:

       1. Become happy with who I am, no matter my weight!
       2. Start trimming out foods that I should NOT be eating
       3. Have fruit and veggies everyday
       4. Start going to gym or working out at home 3 times a week. Once I am comfortable with that, bump it up to 4-5 times each week.
      5. Keep a journal of foods I eat each day, and workouts I accomplish
      6.  STOP drinking Soda and sugar drinks (allow 2 cans per week at first)
      7. Start to change my outlook on life. Such as parking farther away to walk more, or taking stairs, or realizing I don't need junk food to make me happy or make me feel better, or remember that everytime I work out and I am eating healthy I ALWAYS feel better and my skin is much nicer, and everything is just so much easier.
     8. I am not going to focus on a certain weight number yet, but the weight chart says I should weigh in the range of 115-132, so eventually I will aim for that.

I will start with those goals then go from there.
FYI guys we are trying for children, so my weight loss goals might have to change again if I ever get preggers.

Thanks everyone, and keep checking back for updates, and YOU TUBE videos I plan to start making of workouts, meals, etc.

April Favorites

Skull BraceletI am so excited to be doing my first ever April favorites. I have such a big amount of things I am loving this past month that I just had to share. Starting with my favorite fashion clothes and accessories. Skull this and skull that. I am loving it all. Starting with the fabulous skull bracelet I received from my amazing sister who makes/designs jewelry. This bracelet goes with anything. For a casual day out, to an evening date.    If your interested in the bracelet comment below and I will get you in touch with my sister so you guys can get a custom bracelet.
Moving on to the darling necklace. I like that its not to harsh of a skull, but has a little rock n roll to it. I bought this in a store called Bohme for $20, BUT I found it on Amazon later for half the price. You can check this hot thing here:
        SKULL NECKLACE

*I am also loving a top I found at Buckle. It had some awesome colors to it, and the back is half cut out, so you can either wear with a bra underneath, or add a tank top which is what I do. You can find this shirt here:
                         SKULL SHIRT

*Last of the skull items is the scarf. It is my second favorite! The pink scarf with the gold skulls is so so beautiful on. I get compliments every time I wear it :)  So I couldn't find the exact one I bought, but I found one that I think is BEAUTIFUL.  Check it out here:  SKULL SCARF

*I am also LOVING my Coach shoes. I found them at Hill Air Force Base, so I got and amazing deal. I bought the Brown and Black so I could wear them with pretty much anything. They are way cute with Jeans and would look cute with leggings also. I couldn't find these on amazon, but if you search Macy's or a big retail place you should be able to find them.

                                                                 BEAUTY FAVORITES :)

*I love my camo makeup bag. It fits my day to day makeup and supplies I need.  *Essie nail polish in Turquoise & Caicos is a pretty mix of blue and green. You need to add two coats to get the best color. You can look at and buy it here if you love the color like I do: Essie Turquoise & Caicos
*Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre is my favorite moisturizer. I just pat in onto my face and let it soak in. I seen it while watching PixiWoo on YouTube. So I purchased it and have loved it ever since. You can pick your own up here if interested: EMBRYOLISSE
*Mac lipstick and lipgloss tend to be a favorite of mine. These two colors combined are so cute. Natural with a spark of pink. The Lipstick 'Girl Next Door' can be found here(but its pricey because the collection is over and sold out of stores): MAC Girl Next Door , and the Gloss is called 'Summer Sweatheart' can be found here: Mac Summer Sweatheart .
*Maybelline The Falsies has been a favorite for awhile now. I even did a review on this product a couple months ago. I am just in love with it. Check it out here: The Falsies
*Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is pure delight. I normally shy away from products that have a smell to them, because they can break me out. However this does not. It has a fresh scent to it that just makes me happy every time I apply it. Only problem with this foundation is finding your true color. So if your in USA search E-bay and Amazon for your correct color because you can't buy this in stores:)
*Last is the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. It is the best brush I have found to get the foundation across my face smoothly and without creases and messes. Its here: Stippling Brush

Some other Fun odd favorites start with:

*Market Peach Candle from Bath & Body Works! Its so yummy I wish I could eat it up!

*Also love my Fishing welcome mat. It just really fits me and the hubby's lifestyle and home decor.

Last is FOOD favorites.

1. People Water (awesome company)
2. TEA(loving all kinds right now)
3. Avocados(a good fat)
4. Sugar Snap Peas(yummy plain or with ranch)
5. Caramel Sauce(it is what StarBucks uses)

Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoyed it. Make sure to stay tuned for Lots of outdoor posts and the hardest post I will ever have to do! (Weight gain and my plans to get healthy)

Puppy Love

Dog
Baby Moose
Well a blogger and YouTuber I love to watch recently went through the loss of a dog. It really hit me so I thought I would post this so I will always be able to look back and have the memories and pictures.   My dog Moose is about 100 LBS full of pure love and socks. I will be the first to admit that growing up I was NOT a pet lover. I hated the smell, hair and having to clean up after messes when I was in
Dog MooseMiddle/High School. So when I started a relationship(with my now husband) on 1-4-10 I was able to meet 2 week old Moose and fell completely in love with the little bugger. There has been some ups and downs with him along the ways. For instance the dog hair and throw up is still a pet peeve of mine, so I try to clean up constantly. When my husband deploys Moose becomes my best friend and companion through everything. Without him around to snuggle with I am not sure what I would do. Once when Zak was deployed Moose got into something he shouldn't and got very sick. He threw up 13 times in one night and it didn't look pretty so I took him to the Vet. Come to find out he had chewed off a piece of his rubber bone and tried to swallow it. It didn't pass through his body and logged itself in his intestines(?).. He needed emergency surgery and we didn't think twice about doing it even though it cost a pretty penny. He pulled through the surgery like a champ and was feeling 100% better after a week or two. Some awesome memories are when we go camping. Moose is always so happy to be able to run around freely. Cutest part is at night he jumps in bed and gets in the middle of us to stay warm and cozy. He is very protective of me. If he thinks Zak is getting to close he will bark at Zak until
he backs off. Moose isn't very old, so we hope to make many more Awesome memories with our pal.

Vintage Vanity

Vintage VanityHey all. Thought I would FINALLY put up a new blog post and show you some of my vintage finds :)

**Starting off with the Vintage Vanity. I was excited to come across this. It is in rough condition in a few spots, but it is so beautiful. I think I got a pretty great deal for it. I will be doing a blog post or you tube video showing how to organize bedroom/bathroom/makeup and all that jazz.

Vintage Doll

**Next is my cute vintage doll. She normally comes in a cardboard house, but I haven't found a house yet to put her in.  I had a doll just like her when I was young, and I loved her. If I find the old pictures we took as kids with our dolls I will post later.

Fisher Price Boat

**Time for a bath with the Vintage Fisher Price Boat. This will float in the water perfectly. I have a few of the old Little People fisher price toys, and as a child we also had the boat and It was so much fun playing with them.

Fisher Price School Bus

**Last is the Vintage Fisher Price School Bus. Anything with a Bus reminds me of my Dad. He was a full time farmer and school bus driver so we love all toys that involve buses. The kids and driver bounce up and down as this bus goes down the road.

Aloha Hawaii

Hawaii
Hawaii
HawaiiAloha from Hawaii. I have the lucky chance to come here and chill in the warm temps thanks to my sister and her husband. We are here with two of her sweet boys and having a blast together. The flight over had its difficulties, but thankfully the boys were perfect which made things so much easier. We were able to hang out in Delta Sky Bar on our quick layover until we took our last 30 minute airplane ride to Kauai. It is so nice to go from cold smoggy Utah weather, to warm Hawaiian air. We have already gotten out a few times to play and eat some great food. Above is a fun waterfall just a few minutes away from where we stay in Kauai.
HawaiiWe also went to see another waterfall that my nephew Jett really loved. At the waterfall some locals hang there and make items out of certain types of tree leaves. They made us this CUTE bird for my nephew, and a butterfly rose for my sister and me. It is amazing seeing what they can make out of the huge leaves.

The views in Hawaii are so amazing. Every which way you turn it is something new. The ocean, waterfalls, flowers or a bird made of leaves. I will be here awhile longer so I will try to post two more times. The internet service isn't great here so sorry if it takes awhile to get back to your comments. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful week & stay safe. I will be ending my Michael Kors giveaway the day I get back to make sure to enter here: MK Giveaway!(giveaway over)

Victoria's Secret - Nail Dreams

I was excited to hear about the release of Nail Lacquer at Victoria Secret. I of course went to make sure I got my Valentines Chocolates there, and decided to stock up on there polish and review it for you all.
Victoria Secret Nail Polish
Victoria Secret Nail PolishThere were a lot of colors to choose from so it took me awhile to decide on these ones. They are 2 for $15 now so I grabbed a few of them while I could. I have been looking for some light colors and natural colors and one of the colors worked perfectly for that. Tantalize blends in with my natural color.
Victoria Secret Nail PolishVictoria Secret Nail Polish

There were a few colors that stood out to me. String Bikini is such a beautiful deep yet bright pink color. The color pops on the nails. If your a little shy about nail color being to bright then stay clear of String Bikini. As for me, I loved it. Another color that was to die for is Break The Rules. It is a glitter blue/green color. You can wear it alone, or wear it on top of a neutral color.
Victoria Secret Nail PolishNow my favorite red I have come across in a very long time is Boudoir. It looks so smooth and beautiful when you apply it and it shines after it is dry. It is a deep red with a hint of burgundy(just a hint).

So when applying these they seemed to go on just like your average nail polish. However I have been wearing the pink(string bikini) for a few days now and it hasn't chipped yet. The Boudoir color seemed to stay wet longer so make sure it completely dries before heading out the door.
Other then that I fully recommend going and grabbing a couple of colors to try out for yourself. Make sure to do it while it is 2 for $15. Otherwise it might not be as good of a deal.

                                                                Lots of Love Guys :)

Selling a wardrobe is Hard hard work :(

    Kenneth Cole Sunglasses>>>

Ok so I am cleaning out my closet. I absolutely HATE having to get rid of cute things, but I need to make some room and organize my life a little more. I have places I like to donate stuff to like the Donation
center on Hill Air Force Base, or Savors or the DI. I took a couple loads the other day and it feels nice to get that done. Sometimes I sell things when I am needing some extra cash, or when I have a hard time giving things away when I didn't use them or get much wear out of them.. Anyways just want to post some pictures of my recent giveaways or sell items because Man it is hard work to get rid of so many things I love :) :)

Prime Time Smile

My teeth were looking very stained and very blah.  Zak was coming home from his deployment so I thought I would spruce them up and get a white smile. So I bought Prime Time Teeth Whitening.  I used these for a few days and was not impressed.  Its like a pen you twist to get the gel to the top and then spread it on your teeth. It seemed impossible to guess how much you were spreading on teeth & once you were finished spreading it around it felt like the whitening was no longer on my teeth. The most important part was it didn't whiten my teeth at all. So I would recommend using the strips or mouth guard type of whitening kits. Thanks for reading guys.

Wingmaster Shotguns

His & Her Wingmaster Shotguns !

It all started in December when my Uncle Dan decided to gift me his gorgeous 1967 Wingmaster 20 gauge shotgun. I was taken by surprise and loved the gesture.
So after seeing that Uncle Dan clearly loves me more, my husband was a little jealous. Ok ok so the love me more part might not be true, but after seeing my gun Zak(husband) had to get his hands on his own shotgun. So he searched Utah Gun Exchange and found someone who was willing to trade his 22 Rifle for a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge. He was very happy and felt comfortable with the trade. We look forward to taking these out as soon as Zak's collar bone heals from surgery.  I love these because of the design. They are beautiful guns and I will have Zak teach me how to keep them clean. Gun safety is always the most important thing, so stay informed and make sure you are comfortable with yourself and handling guns before you go out on your own. Research what you like, and try to shoot the guns before you buy them because each gun handles differently for each person.
