Frühlingsfest

GREAT to see the Koch name representing ;)

Another first for me happened this last weekend. We went to Frühlingsfest (Spring Fest) in Stuttgart. I had no Idea what to expect. I thought it would mainly be beer tents and food, but I was mistaken. I have never been to anything quite like it. Men, Women and Kids all dressed up in there Lederhosen or Dirndls. It is the first time I was able to see everyone dressed like that. I loved it. Of course some are able to pull the outfits off better then others, but anyone who dares dress in them gets an A+ in my book. I was not ready to stroll around in a Dirndl, so I wore jeans & a t-shirt. Maybe the last year I am here. Many people don't dress up, but MANY do. This festival in Bad Canstatt, Germany is the largest spring festival in Europe. I feel very lucky to live only a few miles away from it.   It is unbelievable what they are able to set up in a couple of weeks time. Here are some of the rides & places to eat.

Moving onto the places Zak was excited about seeing ;) The Beer Tents. 

This one was neat with the mug in the top right corner.

Just walking in the tent you could feel the excitement, and feel the HEAT.

We are going to try to find some tickets and go once more during the night time and enjoy the lights and festival fun when its not as hot out. You don't need tickets during the day time so don't sweat it if you want to go during the day. It was Free to get in. You would just pay for the rides or food you wanted to try. *I can talk & cry like a baby

*Little Fisher Price toys, barbies & Laser Tag were my favorite things to play when I was a kid. 

*I once tumbled head over foot down a hill rolling over & over again. I ended up with a rock or stick jammed in my side and had 25 stitches and the hole was 3 layers deep. ( I was in 2nd or 3rd grade I believe )

*Music can change my mood in a matter of seconds. 

*I am Much older then most of the Vloggers I watch on youtube. 

*I plan to launch my own channel soon!

1) Why did you start blogging?

I started watching YouTube videos and wanted to try to come out of my shell & be more social, and I wanted to share with everyone the things I love!

2) Who do you aspire to be most like?

My Grandma Pratt, & my Momma. My Mom is such a loving person and I am who I am today because of her :)

3)Who is your favorite blogger/vlogger/ ?

That is a bit hard to say just one.. I started watching videos and Tanya Burr was my favorite, but I am loving Fleur De Force, Talk Becky Talk, Tati, MakeupByAlli, Sprinkleofglitter and So many more. 

4)What song is currently stuck in your head, and why should it be stuck in ours too? 

*Louis Armstrong "La Vie En Rose" because its simply wonderful :)

*Otis Redding "Try a Little Tenderness" it makes me happy and makes me want to sing & dance, and WATCH "Pretty in Pink" :)

*Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman "Time to Say Goodbye (Con te partirò)" Because it will make your heart leap

* Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"   Because it makes me do the Happy Dance

5)Got any future plans?

You bet. Hopefully kids kids kids :)

Someday being able to help change lives for the better

( not to mention my own swimming pool ) lol.

Louis Vuitton/ Chanel(someday) .. Nail Polish .. Vintage or Antique things

I suppose the Hubby :)

Little Blue Box from Tiffany & Co.

I thought I would do an unboxing of my very first items from the Little Blue Box known as Tiffany & Co. About one month ago I was surprised by Zak's dad Craig with a gift card to Tiffany's. He gave a card to his two daughter in-laws, Jill & I :) It is one of the best surprises I have ever received. I have always wanted something from the company. I am a lover of all old movies and Breakfast at Tiffanys is right up there with my favorites.  Anyways, here is the unboxing of my items. I cant tell you how excited & happy I was to open these up! EVERY girl deserves at least one thing from Tiffany's. Fasching German Style

What is Fasching? Well before moving to Germany I had never heard of this. So I thought I would try to get the word out, because it just might be worth the trip. Fastnacht / Fasching comes from the word 'fasting'. It starts a week before Ash wednesday when the 40 day of Lent begins. Here in Germany they use this time to celebrate, eat, drink, dance, and be happy. They want to be able to enjoy themselves to the fullest before lent begins.                                            

 Zak and I decided to go to the Fasching parade in Weil-der-Stadt, 
Germany. We heard all great things about this place. When we first arrived and started walking into town you got a sense of community spirit & pride. We got there 2 hours early, because I hate being late or missing things. We grabbed some pizza, explored the area and got in line because things started getting busy. 

It was time 

for the celebrations to begin. Push beer & alcohol bars started cruising the parade route, and the donut stand opened up next to us so I couldn't resist trying those. People are eating, drinking, singing and visiting with family and friends in the streets and you can feel the happiness coming off of everyone. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this parade just blew my mind. Just check out the pictures and you will understand.

Well we have come to the end. We had an amazing time, and plan to go to more of the events next year during Fasching and I will be sure to report about it.
